Category is a label to describe your activity. Categories are meant to be reused as much as possible. They can be as vague or specific as you'd like depending on your preference.
If you have never added a block with the category you are trying to generate, the app will ask you to confirm it. Once that block is in the block history, that category can never be removed from the category list.
Description is a freeform field to better describe the details of what you're doing during this block. It can be anything and allows for a much better description of what actually happened in this period of time.
Pro Tip: Before you generate a block, write what you think you will do. If you actually ended up doing something different, open one of your recent block details to update its category or description. This keeps your block history more accurate.
Both a category and description are required. If you type a category that's similar to an existing one, the app will suggest the existing one to prevent typos.
When you generate a block, the game randomly generates a number of minutes within your chosen tier's range. You cannot choose the exact number. The timer starts immediately.
Each block records: Category, Tier, Minutes, Exp, Description, and a Timestamp.
While a block is active you can pause, resume, or even fail the block.
Failed blocks are permanently removed from the block history, and the next successful timebox will take that Block ID instead.
Once a timer hits zero, you can never remove that block from the Block History.
Pausing — You can pause any active block. The timer freezes. You can resume later (even days later) or fail it. Closing the app does NOT pause the timer.
Exp is rewarded as: Minutes * Tier Multi * Daily Multi
Breaks are fixed-duration (not randomized like normal blocks). You pick the tier, and you get exactly that many minutes.
Breaks can be cancelled to start a block (or even a new and longer break) at any point during the break. You are not required to use the entire break time allotted.
You cannot start a break while a block is active, and vice versa. Only one timer runs at a time.
Breaks earn Exp: Actual Minutes Used × 0.40, flat for every tier. Break Exp counts toward your Level like any other Exp — but it is never affected by multipliers.
Goals have a description and a deadline (date + time). Once set, a live countdown timer appears in the Active Goals panel.
Deadlines can never be edited or pushed back (a new goal must be set after this one is failed). Goals can only be changed once in the editor between the time set and deadline.
Goals are sorted by deadline with the most urgent one on top.
When you complete the goal, tap End Goal to close it out as a Win. If the deadline passes before you end it, you have 8 hours to mark it with the time you completed it, or it becomes a Loss. Both outcomes are permanent and recorded in the Goal Ledger forever.
Your All-Time goal record can be seen in the Goal Ledger.
Open a recent block or break detail from its row to update what you actually did. There is no separate Edit page.
Descriptions for your current block and 10 most recent blocks or breaks can be edited from their detail visual. Older descriptions remain locked.
Breaks do not have categories, but their descriptions can be edited under the same recent-item rule.
You can never edit: minutes, tier, exp, or the timestamp. Only category and description.
Your day is divided into 15-minute chunks.
Boxed — 6+ minutes of blocks in a chunk = +1 token
Incomplete — less than 6 minutes = -1 token
Void/Sleep — protected chunks = 0 tokens
Your streak starts on the first qualifying chunk after your most recent block.
Your streak ends the moment your token balance drops below 0.
Milestone bonuses: Every 20th Boxed chunk = +4 bonus tokens. Every 100th Boxed chunk = +12 bonus tokens.
Sleep Mode — Tap Sleep before bed to protect your streak overnight. The system marks all chunks between sleep and wake as Void so they don't affect your token balance.
You cannot wake up for at least 4 hours after pressing sleep mode. Do not press this during the day.
To wake up, simply generate a block after the 4 hour lockout window has passed. Your streak will autostart.
If you have an active shadow when you hit Sleep, it's automatically closed and resolved.
The search system lets you find any block in your entire history. You can search by:
• Category — type a category name to see all blocks & stats in that specific category
• Block number — type a number to view that specific block
• Date — type a date to see stats and blocks from that day
The Block History is your entire labor history and shows every block you've ever generated. Each entry shows: block number, category, tier, minutes, exp, timestamp, and description.
Once a block is fully finalized, it is permanently immutable. You will forever get to see what you accomplished in that block of time.
This feature, combined with the rest of Timeboxing, makes it the greatest app for tracking your day to day life.
Each tier has a base Exp rate per minute:
T1 (2–7 min) → 0.80 Exp/min
T2 (6–12 min) → 1.00 Exp/min
T3 (10–26 min) → 1.20 Exp/min
T4 (25–47 min) → 1.40 Exp/min
T5 (45–90 min) → 1.70 Exp/min
T6 (60–120 min) → 2.00 Exp/min
Your daily multiplier is based on how many total minutes you boxed yesterday (all categories count). It applies to every block you generate today.
0–8 min → 1.00x
9–17 min → 1.04x
18–26 min → 1.08x
27–35 min → 1.12x
36–44 min → 1.16x
45–53 min → 1.20x
54–62 min → 1.24x
63–71 min → 1.28x
72–80 min → 1.32x
81–89 min → 1.36x
90–98 min → 1.40x
99–107 min → 1.44x
108–116 min → 1.48x
117–125 min → 1.52x
126–134 min → 1.56x
135–143 min → 1.60x
144–161 min → 1.64x
162–179 min → 1.68x
180–206 min → 1.72x
207–224 min → 1.76x
225–242 min → 1.80x
243–260 min → 1.84x
261–296 min → 1.88x
297–323 min → 1.92x
324–359 min → 1.96x
360+ min → 2.00x
Exp formula: Minutes × Tier Rate × Daily Multi
